Dave Blaker

Lecturer

Dave is originally from the south of England but has lived in Scarborough for many years. He is a qualified primary school teacher with BEd and MEd degrees. He has spent most of his career teaching children aged 5 to 11, specialising in the 9-11 age group. In primary school he taught the whole curriculum but with a particular emphasis on music and drama. In addition, he also has experience working with older children in secondary schools and teaching English as a second language. He has also worked with adults in a variety of educational and training situations. Although he has spent most of his professional career as a classroom teacher, he also has extensive experience in individual tutoring, particularly in the areas of English, mathematics, and guitar playing. Outside of work, his great passion is theatre - he has participated in many productions as an actor, director or musician.
