After studying languages (English and Russian) at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Applied Sciences in Prešov and after the birth of my daughter, I started my career as a language teacher at a grammar school, where I worked for 10 years. For the first time, in 2002, I was given the opportunity to travel through a Comenius grant to Exeter in the UK, at a time when my son was only 4 years old, which in hindsight I consider this experience to be a very courageous and crucial step in the development of my professional activity.
Thanks to travelling and studying abroad, I saw the world of languages more clearly and understandably, which helped me to find new and interesting methods and ways of teaching English.
Later, I returned to the university environment for a while to upgrade my qualifications by defending my rigorosum thesis. A few years later I passed the 2nd certification exam. My clients were children, teenagers, managers of small and large companies, and even retired people. I have worked in various teams, but the people at Harmony Academy, where I spent the most active years of my professional life, are the ones that have grown closest to my heart. I have been with Harmony Academy since 2004. I have participated in the Pilgrims study visits in Canterbury, I have met many interesting tutors who have inspired me in my work. Thanks to the students I meet at Harmony Academy and also at the high school where I also teach English, working with a foreign language has become my mission.
