The world has a chance because we are: opening of the 2024/25 school year

On Saturday, September 7, Harmony Academy opened the new 2024/25 school year at White Church Elementary School. This is the 25th time the school has opened its doors to students, parents and teachers. This day was special for all of us at Harmony because it marked a new beginning and we look forward to new challenges, friendships, and knowledge.

At the opening ceremony, we came together as a team ready to continue to build on everything we have learned over the years in the coming year. We focused on the importance of the Learner-Centered Approach, which is key for all of us.

Founder of Harmony, Jana Chynoradská, summed up the day as follows:

"Saturday 7.9.2024 exceeded my expectations and I am very happy that together we experienced another memorable day at Harmony, which will surely go down in its history as a breakthrough!"

Apart from Janka, our team also includes Patya Petrovawho first started teaching English at Harmony in 2004. What did the beginning of the school year mean to her?

"Being part of the team means that I have found inspiration again and again in teaching the language, the energy to work with students and to face the challenges that come up. I am delighted to have people around me who are not only amazing professionals, but most importantly are empathetic and motivating. At Harmony Academy, expertise is combined with a humane approach in teaching. I felt a sense of fulfillment and joy that I was in the right place with the right people."

Lenka Dzurová, our long-time German language expert is also on our team.

"I am glad that I got the opportunity to meet my colleagues live. Thank you for the many suggestions, inspiration, sharing of ideas and experiences, insight into many areas of teaching practice, fellowship and smiles."

Finally, we also offer you a view from Gabi Lojovawho is our source of inspiration in the Person-Centred Approach.

"It was a very enjoyable and motivating meeting full of discussions with teachers who are passionate, who are moving forward in their quest to be more and more student-centered. The self-reflection exercises given, any problems with the application of LCA and visions of our own future direction will greatly help us in planning further learning activities for the tutors so that they are truly focused on their needs, interests and so that they can internalize the essence of LCA more and more, so that it will permeate more and more into their thinking, feeling and behaviour in the classroom and in their personal lives."

We hope to see you together for many successful classes and courses, both online and offline!
